Luigi
is a small hotel right in the
middle of a historical village
between Pisa and Florence. The premises
are in a former Podesteria, a building
dating back to the 14th Century. The
main entrance of Luigi's hotel faces
the main street of the village. On
the other side is instead a wonderful
view over the Pisan hills.
On the second and third floor of this
wisely restored Palazzo guests can
be hosted in very charming Standard
or Superior bedrooms with ensuite
bathroom. All units are equipped
with air-conditioning, sat TV and
pay-TV, frigobar, Internet access,
hair-drier and telephone.
The first floor is dedicated to the
reception and to a series of sitting
rooms with a peaceful atmosphere
and a lot of "historical touch",
created by selected furniture and
fittings.
The most fascinating area of the complex
is the panoramic terraced garden
in the backyard. A very scenic
green corner with outdoor equipment
adorned with local flowers overlooks
the sunflower fields surrounding the
town, just next to a secluded swimming
pool. In the same backyard is
also a large and panoramic veranda,
where meals are served in the good
season.
The facilities include a renowned
restaurant in the former cellar
of the building: a series of small
dining rooms connected by tiny corridors
and small stairs going up and
down in the extended complex of the
basement. The restaurant has a very
refined selection of local and
international wines and some dishes
are prepared in a Renaissance style.
Luigi is just 30 minutes by car from
Florence, Pisa, Vinci, Lucca and the
Tuscan coast and about 1 hour from
Volterra and San Gimignano.
