by the tour operator Arianna &
Friends, a small and young company
committed
to promoting original ways of visiting
Tuscany and recently selected
by the Municipality of Peccioli
as the official Tourist Information
Office of the town.
AN ALBERGO DIFFUSO IN TUSCANY
The
project of "A town as your hotel
in Tuscany" (in Italian defined as
Albergo Diffuso) in Peccioli derives
from the idea of offering visitors the
opportunity to stay in one of the most
authentic and picturesque locations of
the rural Tuscany. The medieval village
of Peccioli is a small panoramic town
on a hilltop in the area of Pisa, inhabited
by an ancient and united community of
a few thousand people with a strong rural
identity.
"In
Peccioli most of the people are identified
by their nickname and several spots in
the town are referred to through unofficial
names, often known by the pecciolesi
only."
The idea of a town as a hotel, or Albergo
Diffuso,
is to give travellers the chance to
be "pecciolesi" for a while.
The "town as your hotel" offers
comfortable units right in the middle
of the old town, among local people,
for the guests to experience the real
daily life of the local community.
A series of facilities in the village
will provide all necessary comforts
for the guests:
bars, restaurants, a public swimming pool,
an underground parking with elevator to
the old town, many shops, public parks
and communal areas where to meet the locals.
The reception service at the "Albergo
Diffuso in Peccioli" is arranged
by the staff of the tour operator Arianna
& Friends, able to communicate

Italian, English, German, French, Spanish
and Russian.
