Maura is a spectacular historical villa in a breathtaking country setting in the area of the Pisan Hills, right halfway between Pisa and Volterra, about 30 minutes driving from San Gimignano. A three-storey noble villa and all its annexes are the premises of a large estate that has been the country residence of several powerful families of Tuscany through centuries. A patient and wise restoration turned the palazzo into a charming country historical residence with standard and deluxe double bedrooms en-suite and family or regular suites.
Every room is equipped with air-con, safe, Sat-TV, hairdrier, courtesy set, WI-FI internet connection, telephone and minibar. The ground floor of the main building hosts a small private restaurant and a breakfast room overlooking a charming patio and terraced garden. There is a very romantic view over gentle hills bordered by cypress rows all around. In the backyard of the villa is an extended Renaissance garden with a wide selection of Mediterranean plants. From here, a green carpet of fresh grass leads to a secluded area hosting a private swimming pool with pool bar.
The annexes host three private apartments, each with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room with fireplace.
The location is ideal to reach destinations in the rural Tuscany like San Gimignano and Volterra. Other main towns like Lucca, Pisa and Florence are all within 1 hour driving.
