THE ORIGINS OF A WORLD STAR
One peculiarity of Tuscany is the presence of an endless number of medieval towns full of narrow crooked lanes, archways, irregular stairways, stone buildings. Discover Lajatico, formerly a castle and later turned into a village, and the nearby Teatro del Silenzio, the world famous arena created by Andrea Bocelli in his birthtown for yearly concerts that gather thousands of fans.

The town of Lajatico and the contemporary art
You meet our local experienced guide at an agreed meeting point. Our tour starts with the visit to the village of Lajatico, a destination out of the mainstream touristy routes. The village is a typical example of Italian small village with charming squares, scenic country landscapes and unexpected art treasures. In the summer days, we can find many contemporary art works that decorate the town, to celebrate a yearly huge music event with the tenor Andrea Bocelli at the Teatro del Silenzio.

The Teatro del Silenzio
We move in the countryside to visit a spectacular open air arena called Teatro del Silenzio. The theater hosts the yearly concert of maestro Andrea Bocelli, who founded the venue in 2006. You will learn how the concerts are arranged every year as the guide explains the history of the whole project and you will understand the reasons why the event attracts thousands of people every year. Its location is in fact in a breathtaking setting of wheat fields on rolling hills with the Etruscan town Volterra as the background of the stage and the atmosphere created during the concert is a unique experience!

Lunch in town and tasting of Bocelli wines
After visiting the village and its fascinating attractions, the guide brings you to a renowned restaurant in town, for a delicious lunch based on local delicacies.
After lunch we leave the village and reach the location of Officine Bocelli, a food court, bistrot & restaurant, where we will taste two wines of Andrea Bocelli’s family winery, served in a guided wine tasting session. If available, we will also visit a little museum dedicated to the Maestro’s family, located on the second floor.
