Lajatico – hometown of Andrea Bocelli – tour with tasting of Bocelli’s wine
IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ANDREA BOCELLI – THE ORIGINS OF A WORLD STAR
Tuscany is a land of timeless beauty, where medieval villages, winding stone alleys, ancient archways, and sun-washed stairways seem to exist outside of time. Among these places lies Lajatico, a small hilltop village that holds a special place in the hearts of Andrea Bocelli fans worldwide: the Maestro's birthplace.
Here, where Bocelli's extraordinary journey began, you will discover not only the village itself, once a castle, later transformed into a quiet rural town, but also the iconic Teatro del Silenzio, the world-famous open-air arena conceived by Andrea Bocelli himself. Once a year, silence gives way to music, as thousands of admirers gather to experience an unforgettable concert in his homeland. We will discover the venue when it returns to its natural state, free of music and crowds, where only the landscape, the views, and the silence remain.<
Lajatico: A Village Shaped by Music and Art
Meet your knowledgeable local guide and begin your journey through Lajatico, a destination far from mass tourism yet deeply connected to one of the greatest tenors of our time. The village reflects the soul of rural Tuscany, with intimate squares, sweeping countryside views, and surprising artistic gems.
During the summer months, the town comes alive with contemporary art installations, created to celebrate the annual concert at the Teatro del Silenzio. These works form a unique dialogue between music, art, and landscape, an expression of how Andrea Bocelli continues to inspire creativity in his hometown.
The Teatro del Silenzio: Where Music Meets the Horizon
A short drive through the rolling Tuscan hills brings you to the Teatro del Silenzio, a breathtaking open-air arena founded by Andrea Bocelli in 2006. Your guide will share the story behind this visionary project and explain how, year after year, the venue is transformed from a silent landscape into a world-class stage.
Surrounded by golden wheat fields and with the ancient town of Volterra in the background, the Teatro del Silenzio has a truly unique atmosphere.
Lunch and a Toast to the Maestro: Bocelli Wines
After the visit, enjoy a delightful lunch in a renowned local restaurant, featuring authentic Tuscan specialties. The experience continues with a visit to Officine Bocelli, the food court of Maestro's family.
Your guide will arrange for you a guided tasting of two wines from the Bocelli family winery. You also have the possibility to purchase and order Bocelli family's products such as wine, honey, grappa and other local food specialties . When available, you will also visit a small museum dedicated to the Bocelli family, offering a more personal glimpse into the roots and legacy of the Maestro.
This experience is a journey into the places, landscapes, and inspirations that shaped Andrea Bocelli, making it a must for true fans of his music and his story.
