Then you will continue to a family-run winery with breathtaking views where you will taste excellent wines and enjoy a delicious lunch together!
The most beautiful Etruscan townVolterra, what a treasure! This magical town sits on a hilltop with almost 3,000 years of history, and walking through it feels like stepping into another time. The streets, squares, and walls tell the story of civilizations from the Etruscans, long before the Romans, through the Medieval and Renaissance periods. Volterra has been chosen as the setting for several books and movies because of its timeless atmosphere and stunning scenery. Our guide will take you on a captivating 2-hour stroll through charming alleys, past ancient buildings, and historic monuments. You will see places such as the Roman Theatre, the Piazza dei Priori, and the impressive cathedral with its artistic treasures.
You will also learn about the Etruscans, a civilization whose history is still mysterious and is constantly rewritten with every new underground discovery.
After the tour, you'll and have free time to enjoy a coffee, browse local shops, or simply relax in one of the beautiful squares. Don't miss the remains of the ancient Etruscan city walls, built in the 4th century B.C.
An authentic family run winery with spectacular views
After the ancient wonders of Volterra, we will move on to a hidden gem nearby: a charming family-run winery surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. Meet Claudia, whose father founded the winery years ago. She carries on the family passion for wine and hospitality.
The farm lies just a few kilometers from Volterra, in the beautiful Parco Naturale delle Balze e dei Calanchi. This is a place of striking natural beauty, with clayey soils rich in minerals that give the wines great character and elegance.
At the winery, Claudia will welcome you for a guided tour through the vineyards and the cellar, explaining the philosophy behind their winemaking and how they respect nature and the land in every phase of production.
You will taste a beautiful range of wines produced here, each of them expressing the unique terroir of this area.
The tasting takes place in a panoramic room with stunning views over the Tuscan hills. It is paired with delicious local specialties such as pecorino cheese, cold cuts, olive oil, and a hot dish like pasta, lasagna or peposo, all perfectly matched with the winery's wines.
This tour is an immersion in Tuscan culture, history, food and wine, combining the best of ancient civilization and modern gastronomy.

This tour takes place in the the old town and the rural area of Volterra, in central Tuscany, about 20 km from Selvatelle, San Gimignano and Montaione.

The destinations reached during this activity are in the Tuscan countryside, in areas off the beaten track that cannot be reached by public transport. We highly recommend renting a car or a scooter in order to reach them. As an alternative, we can offer a valued service by chauffeured car, van or minibus. Any cost of transportation is to be added to the rates displayed on the rate table of this page.
